Fili d’Oro

The rhythm of form and function.

Seating

Inspiration:
Named after “Tāla” — the Sanskrit term for rhythm and beat in classical Carnatic music — this piece celebrates repetition, proportion, and balance. Just as rhythm defines silence between notes, The Tala Shelf defines space between objects.

Concept:

The Tala Shelf is a composition of balance — an architectural sculpture built from simple ovals and vertical symmetry. Each level flows into the next with measured precision, creating a visual tempo that feels calm and constant.

It’s designed not only to hold, but to highlight — to make every object placed upon it feel intentional, curated, and beautiful.

At the core of Leksa is our commitment to not just meet, but exceed, client expectations. We believe in building solutions that are not only visually captivating but also strategically sound.

Design Story

Handcrafted from solid Burma teak, The Tala Shelf is built as an exploration of repetition and alignment.
Each oval form is individually shaped, aligned, and joined using precision mortise and dowel joinery, ensuring perfect strength and balance.

The edges are hand-sanded to a soft round profile, allowing light to glide across the surface without interruption. It is then hand-polished to a warm satin matte finish, accentuating the natural rhythm of teak grain — turning structure into sculpture.

Every shelf is finished as a standalone art piece — timeless, tactile, and meditative.
