THE LITHIC CONSOLE

Crafted in contours. Rooted in calm.

The Lithic Console takes its cues from the stone forms that shape Madras — from the weather-smoothed boulders along the Coromandel coast to the chiselled granite of its temples and modernist buildings. “Lithic,” meaning of stone, reflects the piece’s monolithic presence: a modern sculpture with a soul grounded in the geological and architectural identity of Chennai.

Design Story

Crafted from precision-cut engineered hardwood, the console’s sculpted base is shaped to echo coastal stone formations — fluid, asymmetric, and intentional. A matte-stained finish enhances the natural grain, mirroring stone textures without overpowering the form. The long top extends confidently yet lightly, creating a piece that functions as both furniture and art. Every edge is refined. Every curve is deliberate. A modern interpretation of the city’s enduring relationship with stone.

Concept

Sculptural yet serene, the Lithic Console is designed as a contemporary monolith. Its curved base mimics the softened geometry of eroded rock, while the elongated top brings a clean, modern line that creates visual balance. The meeting of these two gestures forms a silhouette that feels both grounded and airy — a minimalist object infused with quiet Madras character.
